1. Participation Requirements
Sunrun is pleased to invite you to the Summer 2023 Peak Power Rewards (PPR) Program. Participation in this Program does not require any additional service calls to your home or any hardware modifications to your battery system. Additionally, nothing will be required of you when the Program concludes. Any operational changes will be made by Sunrun automatically. Enrollment is limited to the first 8,500 customers.
2. Unspecified Consent
Unless you choose to opt out, Sunrun hereby acknowledges your consent to participate in this
PPR Program.
3. Privacy
Participating in this program means you agreed to share your battery system operational data with PG&E for one year. As a reminder, we will handle any personal information or data according to our privacy policy.
4. Battery Operations
Sunrun will control and monitor the battery’s system, providing a completely hassle-free experience. We’ll send power from your battery when the grid is in high demand, but we'll always reserve enough energy to provide backup power when you need it most.
Sunrun may use your battery to contribute power to the electric grid, in which case the battery may have less capacity available to power your home or provide backup power. Throughout the Program, Sunrun will maintain a backup reserve of 20% of your battery for purposes of backup power in the event of an outage.
Or, if you have customizable reserve functionality, your battery system will discharge all available energy up to your backup reserve. Sunrun will set your backup reserve to 20% initially and may reset these reserve settings to 20% periodically.
PG&E will not have access to or control of your battery. If you determine any battery deficiency, problem, operational issue, or elect not to use the battery(s) at certain times during the Program, or want to no longer participate in the Program, you must contact
Sunrun directly.
5. Incentive Payment
As part of enrollment in Sunrun and Pacific Gas and Electric Company's (PG&E's) Peak Power Rewards Program, you're entitled to receive a one-time enrollment incentive payment of $750. Eligible customers who do not opt-out by July 15, 2023 will receive an email from Sunrun rewards center with instructions to obtain your pre-paid VISA gift card by mail or electronic delivery. You may also qualify to receive a free Smart Thermostat if you don’t already have one or unless you received a rebate for one previously. Your incentive payment is made available by the California Public Utilities Commission and administered
by PG&E.
If you decide to opt out you may forfeit your rewards.
6. Smart Thermostat
If you have already received a free Smart Thermostat as an incentive for a prior promotion, you will not be eligible to receive a new Smart Thermostat as an incentive for this PPR Program.
Smart Thermostats offered under this PPR Program come with the manufacturer’s warranty. PG&E does not provide any guarantees or warranties (express or implied) of any kind concerning the use, condition, design, or operational feasibility of the Smart Thermostat or its use in relation to the Customer’s Battery when participating in the Program.
7. Additional Terms
PG&E may review, but has no responsibility for, the Program’s design, construction, operation, or maintenance. Any review of the Program by PG&E does not constitute any guarantee or representation as to the Program’s economic or technical feasibility, operational capability, or reliability of the Program’s implementation or the measures installed.
PG&E will review any Program scope or site condition(s) that involve material changes or occurrences of non-routine events (i.e., required use of additional heating and cooling loads, longer or shorter operating hours, etc.) during or after Program implementation that may impact the Program’s energy saving benefit. In order to initiate this review, PG&E will require the Customer to promptly provide a written description of these issues.
Participation in this program will not affect your service. If you have additional questions about the Program, feel free to reach out to our customer care team here at the following number: (855) 478-6786
These Terms and Conditions may change from time to time; the date of last revision is identified below. Your continued enrollment in the program if we change the Terms and Conditions means you accept those changes, so please check back periodically for updates. You will be notified if there are material changes related to your system. An example of a material change would be something that would change the essential terms of these terms and conditions, like a different discharge profile for your battery or a different program term. A nonmaterial change would be an addition to the amount of customers allowed to participate.
